An overgrown patch of dead grass in the shape of a Shah Abbasi Palmette subsumes an otherwise well maintained and fenced in suburban lawn. This glitch mutates a Persian rug that is a family heirloom imported by my great-grandparents after immigrating to New York from Baghdad, Iraq. These decorative shaped patches of dead grass undermine presumed access to the walled gardens, or paradaisa in Persian, among American consumers through physical ownership.
